...because I happen to be drinking it right now (like usual) out of my friend Heidi's face..... ...and I drew it a couple of months ago... ...and I put my paintbrush in it while painting my Texas drawing last week.... ...and I love this song by Sylvan Esso of the same name (we saw them live a few weeks back--such a fun dance-y show!)... ...and it inspires lots of fun art. I'll leave you with that. (All the below designs are created by other BoomBoom Prints artists. Just click on the image if you're curious about it.)

This past Sunday Ryan and I, along with our friend Esther and all our pups, hiked up Dog Mountain. It's absolutely beautiful this time of year. Ryan and I hiked it for the first time in back in January, but it was a totally different place Sunday. The wildflowers up there are ridiculous. I just love the rhythm of the seasons. To everything turn turn turn.. Speaking of flowers. Doesn't "Red Flower" look so cute on this white onsie from BoomBoom Prints? And I'm still working hard on my Texas piece. Stay tuned.
I love how the forested hills and mountains of the Pacific Northwest look from a distance--layers of trees in different values.* I looked through some of the hundreds of pictures I've taken since we've moved here to try to show you what I mean. Kinda like this. And this. And kind of like this. I tried to capture that a bit in my latest drawing. It started as just a sketchbook doodle, but now I really like it. I used sharpie pens. They come in such pretty colors. This design is now available on Boom Boom Prints--so you can get something for yourself or a baby you know (and they ALWAYS have free shipping). When I went to the Boom Boom Prints website just now I noticed my "Woven" drawing was featured on their homepage. Weee! *"Value" is a fancy art term that means the lightness or darkness of a color. Like baby blue is a light value of blue.
