We had such sweet time with family this Christmas. Here are a lot of candid shots; you can click on them to make them bigger and see some captions. It was a quick trip back home, but full of quality time. And now I'm working on this commissioned piece. The request was for a certain size and that it have different shades of brown. I went more abstract with it with lots of overlapping circles. Almost finished!  And here I am working on it in my "studio". You can see me reflected in the mirror doors, so now I can accompany myself while I create.  (that's the table I was battling in my last post.) I have a couple of new years resolutions I could share..but I think I'll save that for my next post. This one is long enough now.  Peak by Kakel

My Native Bear is finished. It was commissioned to be a pair with my Pattern Penguin.  I enjoyed making these little guys. And it was refreshing to have something smaller to work on after tackling some bigger projects. The originals are 5"x7". We're settling into our new home.  Got a big colorful rug today.  Battled an Ikea table.  And won. Things like that.  Bear #3 by Jenny Liz Rome Phew. It's been a whirlwind past couple of weeks. We loaded up the pods and the cars and drove to Portland. (click on images to make them bigger) We were blessed to be joined by some good friends. And to receive the hospitality of other friends along the way (I bummed I didn't get a picture with our hosts!). Then we finally made it to our Portland home! And we're pinching ourselves that we actually get to live here.  Of course it's not perfect. And our house is a mess. And friends and family are very far away. But overall, we are excited and enjoy exploring our new city. Suffice to say that I haven't had much time to work on art recently. My current artwork is our house...make it a comfy, cozy, cool home. Tomorrow I plan on taking out a piece or two I've been meaning to work on and hopefully can start spending time daily doing that. Phew, that was a lot of pictures. Thanks for making it to the end.
