Flower power

Artistic Portland has extended a "Flower Power" art challenge to its artists that will be voted on in April.  I do enjoy art challenges--they give me a focus.  I started with this guy...

Which I'm still in the midst of adding color to...

But then was feeling uninspired by it.  So I drew this one a couple of days ago.

I plan on finishing both of them, but then maybe submitting the bottom one for the challenge.   What do you think?

I've still been enjoying contour line drawing here and there.

Those two were drawn from pictures taken on our recent trip to Bend.  We love that place!  It's where our hearts were first enchanted with Oregon.

See in the original picture Ryan looks a bit more happy and his upper lip is a bit smaller.

Back on the topic of contour drawing--I found this Korean artist, Jeongseo Chae, on Instagram who focuses on continuous line contour drawing. I just love it!
