I was invited to participate in a neat collaboration project with BoomBoom Prints. It is inspired by the work of Ruth Oosterman. She has colloborated with her young daughter on a number of art pieces. They're so awesome! For instance.... Well BoomBoom Prints teamed up with FreeArtsMn (a local art education non-profit, BBP is headquartered in MN) to create some art projects with little ones. One was a simple black marker drawing. They then gave these drawings to a few BoomBoom Prints artists--like myself-- for use to expand up on in our particular style. Here was one of the drawings I recieved... I played around with it and created this. It was definitely a challenge, but a fun one. These pieces completed by the participating artists will be for sale during the holiday season and net proceeds will be donated back to FreeArtsMN. Each child will also receive a copy of the finished artwork. Very cool! I've seen a lot of the other completed artworks and there are some really fun designs! I'll let you know when they are put up for sale. In the meantime I'm also busy prepping for a couple of holiday art sales. I'm participating in them with my good friend and awesome watercolor artist Beth Adams. I've never done a craft show/art fair/bazaar before so I'm excited--though I know it will be (and has been) a lot of work. If you are in the area, you should come say hi! And the Rosewood Christmas Bazaar is having a contest to win a $50 Amazon gift card. Might as well enter, right?
