Happy Friday! I hope yours is lovely so far. I'll be spending most of my day today at Artistic Portland. I'm still thrilled to have a home there for my art. It's an inspiring place to spend all day in. Wandering around and looking at all the lovely hand made things. Like I mentioned before, I want to get better at lettering. This week I practiced some faux-calligraphy (using this tutorial). Making art out of scripture is a good way for me to meditate on the words, so that is also something I want to do more of. Plus I finished that drawing in one day which is a mega-bonus--it usually takes me at least a week to complete a drawing. ONE more lovely thing I want to share. I've already mentioned the art Ryan gave me for Christmas, but I haven't shared what I gave him (we love art in this house.) I found this artist by browsing on Etsy. Her name is Julie Filipenko and she based in Tel Aviv, Israel. I gave Ryan prints of these two artworks. We love both of them. Its a great tradition, getting each other art for Christmas. Except we might soon run out of wall space..
