And now here are some fun facts about Portland, our new home in 2.5 weeks (source).

• Portland was almost named Boston.  Two guys flipped a coin to name it after their home town, one was from Boston, Mass. and the other from Portland, Maine.
• There is a dormant volcano within city limits.

• Being home to more than 60 breweries, Portland has more microbreweries than any other city in the world. (and this fact is from a year ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are more now)

• Powell’s City of Books can be found in downtown Portland, the world’s largest independently owned bookstore. (It's huge!  They provide you with a map)
• The largest wilderness park within city limits is Portland’s own Forest Park with over 5,000 square acres.
